Oscar
I’ve been teaching IB MYP Mathematics for six years, mostly working with students who find algebra and functions difficult at first. I like using diagrams and short worked examples before moving onto longer problems. Geometry is probably my favourite area to teach. I also spend time showing students how to explain their reasoning properly rather than simply arriving at the right number.

Gianna
Hi, I’m a Biology tutor with four years of experience supporting IB MYP students online. I studied molecular biology and still enjoy bringing little bits of real science into lessons when they fit. Cells and genetics are my favourite topics. My sessions are fairly relaxed, but I’m particular about scientific vocabulary and getting students to write answers that actually address the question.

Erin
Physics made much more sense to me once I stopped memorising equations and started drawing what was happening. That is pretty much how I tutor it now. I’ve supported IB MYP students for five years and usually teach with sketches, simple examples and plenty of questions. Forces and electricity are the topics I enjoy most. I’m also happy to revisit earlier maths when it is holding a student back.

Jesse
I’ve taught IB MYP English for seven years, both in classrooms and through one-to-one online lessons. Much of my work is with students who have good ideas but struggle to turn them into organised analytical writing. I enjoy teaching short fiction and poetry because there is always something worth debating. We work closely with the text, improve paragraph structure and edit writing together.

Carson
My background is in environmental science, and I now tutor IB MYP Integrated Sciences alongside my work in education. I’ve been tutoring for just over three years. Ecology is the topic I could happily teach all day, especially food webs and human impacts on ecosystems. I use lots of graphs and real data in lessons because students often understand scientific ideas better when they can see them in context.

Molly
I’ve worked with IB MYP students in Individuals and Societies for nearly a decade. History is my main area, particularly twentieth-century Europe, but lessons also involve source evaluation and understanding different perspectives. I’m quite methodical when it comes to written work: we read the question carefully, sort the evidence, then build the response. It saves a lot of unfocused writing later.

Ruby
I’ve taught IB MYP Mathematics for eight years, working mainly with students who find algebra and functions harder than the rest of the course. I usually begin with a short diagnostic task, then build lessons around the gaps I spot. I’m especially keen on geometry and probability, and I prefer using unfamiliar problems rather than repeating the same exercise. Students also get plenty of practice explaining how they reached an answer.

Maddie
I came to tutoring after several years teaching English in international schools. My IB MYP students often need help turning good ideas into organised analytical writing, so we spend plenty of time on paragraph structure, evidence and precise vocabulary. I also enjoy teaching poetry, particularly when a student initially says they dislike it. Lessons are discussion-heavy and usually involve a short piece of writing.
